Cleaning and care
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock!
Pull the mains power adapter

out of the power socket before cleaning
the appliance.
Never touch the mains power adapter

with wet hands, especially when
plugging it in or unplugging it.
Always keep the mains power adapter

and the cable dry.
CAUTION
Possible damage to the appliance.
The hair and beard trimmer should never be immersed in water or other
liquids for cleaning, as the appliance is not waterproof. Doing this may
damage live parts (batteries).
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these may corrode
the surface of the casing.
Clean the housing only with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent.
Switch the hair and beard trimmer off by pressing the ON/OFF switch

Disconnect the cable from the appliance and pull the mains power adapter

out of the power socket.
Remove any cutting length attachment (

or
11
) from the appliance.
Wash the cutting length attachment (
10
or
11
) under running water if required.
Dry the cutting length attachment (
10
or
11
) thoroughly afterwards.
Push the slide switch for the thinner attachment

right as far as the stop to posi-
tion 0 to move the thinner attachment

into its starting position.
Press your thumb against the front of the cutting unit to release it from its
holder (see Fig. D). Then remove the cutting unit from the appliance.
Use the cleaning brush supplied to remove any residual hair from the cutting
unit .
Once you have completed cleaning, push the tab of the cutting unit into the
mounting opening on the appliance (see Fig. E).
Push the cutting unit back onto the appliance by pressing lightly from above until
it clicks into place (see Fig. F).
